I fail!

So I decided to stop doing the 30 day challenge, first off I am not good about remember to write everyday.  And second of all I don't feel like I have much motivation to write about some of the topics.  So sorry to the 2 or 3 of you that read our blog.

Better news, my computer will be finished soon so then I can post pictures of that.  Also I am going to start a business venture and create crafts and sell them on my website.  Once my website is done I will post a link for the website.  I hope I can make cute enough crafts to even sell....who knows maybe people wont want to buy them.  I am so nervous to make crafts and sell them on a website because I feel like maybe I am not creative enough or people will think I am dumb for the things I am selling.  UGH!!! Wish me luck :)  Right now I am playing with my Mom's Cricut to cut some vinyl letters for one of the crafts I plan on selling...if they look good enough, I may need opinions.

Craft Update

So many of you have seen in past posts that I am making stockings and a tree skirt.  Well.....its been one problem after another.  But I have gotten the top of the tree skirt sewn and hopefully won't have to much more headache!! I don't want this to be the end of my sewing...so I am trying to stay positive.. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of what I have done so far, I also made a cute letter A (for Almond) to put on our shelf I will post a picture later.

Days Behind

Its time to play catch up!  I am so behind on this challenge.

Day 5-Somewhere I have been to....
Me and Cody went to Yellowstone a year ago and it was so fun, we were able to visit with his dad.  Cody was able to fish, and I was able to go to Yellowstone (where I had never been before).  Its so pretty there, I am looking forward to going back soon, its so nice to just stand and nature and realize how much we have been blessed with.

Day 6-Favorite super hero and why
I don't really have a favorite super hero....Batman is pretty cool though.
Day 7-A picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you
I think you can all guess who has had the biggest impact on my life, Cody changed my life for the best on 4/6/2009.  I am not sure how my life would be without him.  He is the best person I have ever met, I love him so much and I don't think he relizes how much of a impact he has on my life.
He even comes and takes my fish off the hook when I catch one.  Last summer we were at Payson Lake and he was out on his pontoon boat probably 50-100 feet away and every time I would catch a fish I would yell for him to come back...and he would paddle back and take my fish off and then paddle back out. :)  I have the best husband.

Even though he probably didn't want to carry flowers he carried my bouquet so I could walk :)

And everyone else you see in this picture has been a huge influence on me, even those family members in Cody's family..though I haven't known them very long they have been very good at welcoming me into the family.

Bad Habits

Day 4-A habit I wish I didnt have.

HMMM....

I have several bad habits, probably one of the biggest is having not time management skills at all!  I am horrible at waking up on time or being on time..I am working on getting this worked out so I can start being on time.

Friends

Day 3-Picture of my friends

Cody is probably my bestest friend ever!!  We have some really good times together, its nice to enjoy each others company.  I don't know what I would do with out my best friend/husband.  I am so blessed to have met him.

I realized when looking through my pictures that I don't have any on my computer of me and my friends.  My friends know who they are...and I am sorry we don't have pictures together.  We have had some good times together, its sad that as you get older and married friendships change.

A not so good day and our blog name

My blog name is The Almond Family its self explanatory...our last name is Almond and we are a family!

On another note...I was so frustrated today because AT&T owes us money for a deposit we had to pay, and now they are giving us the run around about it.  I was so close to being in tears at work, I had spent an hour on the phone with them and kept getting no help, and now I have to prove that we paid the deposit in the first place, its a really long story so I won't go into details but I hate when people don't follow up on what they say.  Don't say your going to fulfill on something or do something unless you plan on doing it.

Enough of my ranting and raving, but it feels good to get it all out.  I am sending all the papers including a letter to AT&T tomorrow so wish me luck in getting our deposit back like we deserve.

Contest at Work

For Halloween this year my work held various contests.  One of them was a pumpkin carving contest, we were divided into teams (luckily I was on a team with all my fellow tech support friends).  We were given a pumpkin and told to carve it as a team or have someone take it home and carve it.

I decided I would take it home and carve it since we didn't have much time as a team.  I figured out a design we all wanted and had Cody help me carve it.  We stayed up until 12:30 carving it, but it was worth it.  At first I hated our pumpkin because it was so bumpy and wrinkly but i love it now!!  I haven't found out yet if we won, but I sure hope we do.  First place gets free lunch at Thanksgiving Point, second place gets lunch at JCW's, and third place gets lunch at Del Taco.  To be completely honest I would take lunch anywhere :)

Here are a few picture let me know what you think.

Family Home Evening and Cornbellys

Yesterday we invited my parents and my 3 younger siblings over to our house for Family Home Evening.  I made 2 different kinds of soup, and we had soup in bread bowls.  We then carved pumpkins, and I made homemade apple crisp for dessert.  We got done kind of late but it was worth it.

Cleaning out the guts!

Here is me starting to carve mine!

Me and Cody went to Cornbelly's on Friday after work and we took a few pictures it was so fun, I love going to the corn maze with him...its ones of the best things ever!

Good Things

Things have been going pretty good for us lately, and I am worried to get used to it for fear that everything won't keep going good.

Cody got a job at my work, so we can now carpool together.  Its a blessing that he was able to get a job so close to the end of his landscaping job he had.  It will be nice to have extra money and consistent pay.  We have also been very lucky to not struggle with money for the time being, so we can hopefully save some.

Oh ya...and I have been in the mood to sew, so I am going to sew some Christmas quilts, a table runner, stockings and a Christmas tree skirt.

We are going to Cornbelly's tonight so I will post some pictures later.

Projects and Ham Fried Rice

I have been in the mood to work on projects lately.  I have gone to DI several times and found cute shelves but I have never gotten them painted and hung up.  So last night while watching tv I decided to finally sit down and do it!!  My red window shelf thing is not done yet, I need to sand it and I am thinking of getting some screen stuff from Home Depot and putting it on the backs of the windows...I am not sure if I will do that yet or not.  Any suggestions are appreciated.  Also last night me and Cody made Ham Fried Rice for dinner!! It was pretty yummy I made the recipe up as I went.

Before
After pic, its right above our toilet but I am not sure what to put on it.  Any suggestions??

This is the red window shelf, I will post the after pic once I am done. (also I don't know how to rotate the image).

Apple Pie

I made apple pie filling, and after I am all done I will have a total of 25 quart jars!! I love apple pie so this is a very good thing.  Last night I decided to try out my newly bottled apples and I made a yummy apple pie for dessert.  However, I am not good at crimping the crust (anyone have any tips or suggestions let me know).  Anyways it was super yummy!!

Card Makin'

This past weekend we had 2 birthdays!! My mother in law and my sister in law, they came down from Layton and we visited ate (of course) and went bowling.  I was beating everyone, but I guess I was being to prideful because then I jumped from 1st place to 3rd.

I have been wanting to have a scrapbook night with Cody's little cousins Brooklyn and Lexi, so finally we were able to before all the birthday festivities.  I figured it would be easiest if I came up with a couple designs for cards and got all the pieces cut out and gave the girls all the pieces for the card and they could put it together how they wanted.

Cody's Grandma invited me to bottle apple pie filling that is to die for!!  And so she bought the apples and we finally had time yesterday, I was able to fill all my quart jars.  I have 12 jars of apple pie filling that will be so yummy in apple pie, apple crisp etc....mmmm I am making myself hungry.

Life is hard!

Life is so hard sometimes, well most of the time.  Me and Cody have been struggling with what we should be doing right now in our lives, money is always an issue and I wish it wasn't that way.  We have gotten family members opinions on what we should do, but it doesn't seem like its what WE want to do or what WE should do.  I am glad that I have a husband to help me along the way, because these difficult choices become a tad bit easier when you have someone there that you can rely on.

We are still not sure what we will do for school, but I know for sure that I want to be happy and hope that everything will work out, we need to learn to rely on the Lord and pray!!!

Wish us luck!!

So Many Changes!

So recently Cody and I have decided that we want to get school done and out of the way, but UVU is becoming so expensive and we both need a change of scenery.  We are still deciding if we want to move to Idaho and attend BYU-Idaho.  It would be fun but its so scary at the same time to go through so much change.

We would need to find a new job for each of us, find a cheap apartment, and get accepted into school.  My job is really great and I make pretty good money, and I am nervous that I won't be able to find anything comparable.  We are definitely going to talk some more about it, and pray.  Its a big change and it will affect the rest of our lives.

I am so glad that I have a wonderful spouse that can help me make these decisions.

Life Lately

Life has been fun lately trying to adapt to being married, and being so busy that when we finally have a chance to sit down we don't want to move.  We have had a couple of friends get married since we have, and we have been busy trying to make our apartment look more like a home.  We have gone camping, and fishing.  And also been able to spend time with family.  I don't know what we would do without family around helping us.  We couldn't ask for a better bunch of people.  Here is what we have been up to lately!  I also posted some of our wedding pictures.

I want to be better at posting, but its hard when your so busy :)

These are both pictures from the Onion Days parade!  We finally got shade this year :)
Cody's 23rd birthday.  It was Star Wars themed.
We went on a campout for the Gullion family reunion on 7/24, we went fishing and relaxed.

My Great Grandma Maughan passed away and we went to her funeral, it was a beautiful funeral and we will miss her a lot!
When we went to the funeral we stayed at this little motel in Bancroft, ID.
We just celebrated Logan's 8th birthday, we planned a Ghostbuster's themed party.  We swam, ate cake and ice cream, and watched Ghostbusters in the theater at Jeremy and Joys.
And of course some of our wedding pictures :)

Family BBQ

Yesterday it was Cody's birthday, he turned 23!! We didn't get to do much for his birthday because I had to work, but we were able to go to a family bbq in Kaysville.  My aunt and uncle are moving from Georgia to Colorado so they stopped in and we all got together for a bbq.  We had a lot of fun spending time with each other, my cousins have lived in Georgia for 5 years so i saw them when they were very little.  I am glad we got to see everybody :)  Here are a couple not so good pictures that I took.
